This week, we’re focusing on the other side of that conversation which is communicating with clarity and confidence. Because whether you’re working on a group project, planning an event, or collaborating on a big idea, great communication is the glue that holds everything together. 💬👥

We often think communication means “talking more” but really, it’s about making sure people understand you, feel respected, and can work with you smoothly. Ever been in a group where no one’s sure what’s happening or who’s doing what? 🫠 That’s a communication breakdown. But when you say what you mean, check in often, and stay open to feedback, you help your team stay aligned and that’s how things get done well.

Here are some pro tips on working on communication. Firstly, be clear and concise. This means you must say what you mean, don’t overcomplicate your message. Whether it’s in a WhatsApp group, email, or meeting, keep it simple and straight to the point. People appreciate clarity more than cleverness.

Secondly, clarify and confirm. It’s okay to double-check! Try: “Does that make sense?” or “Can you recap what you understood?” to make sure everyone’s on the same page. Misunderstandings can be avoided by simply asking. Thirdly, give and receive feedback like a leader. Feedback isn’t about calling people out, it’s about helping everyone improve. Use “I” statements, stay respectful, and be open to receiving feedback, too. Growth goes both ways.

Lastly, choose the right channel, some messages are better face-to-face. Others are perfect for a quick text or voice note. Don’t send a 500-word monologue in a group chat when a 5-minute call would do the job better. Know your tools. When you communicate with care and clarity, you help your team feel safe, supported, and seen, and that’s where the magic happens. 💫
