About The SAPOA Bursary

The SAPOA Bursary Fund aims to drive transformation, address historical disparities, and raise awareness of the property sector among the youth. The Fund also seeks to mitigate future skills shortages in real estate. SAPOA offers bursaries to deserving prospective and current university students pursuing studies in the property and built-environment sector.

The Bursary Fund

What it covers:

  • Full tuition fees

  • University-accredited accommodation

  • Prescribed textbooks and study materials

  • Structured mentoring and academic tutoring

๐Ÿค“ Who can Apply?

  • Aged 18 to 35

  • Employment-equity students

  • Current undergraduates in a SAPOA-funded degree (see list below)

List Of Funded Degrees

  • BCom Property Valuation & Management

  • BSc Architectural Studies

  • BSc Construction Studies

  • BSc Property Studies

  • BSc Quantity Surveying

  • BSc Real Estate

  • BSc Civil Engineering

  • Bachelor of Urban / Town & Regional Planning

  • PGDip Property Development & Management (honours-level)*

*Final-year undergraduates may apply for the PGDip or Honours in one of the listed degrees

Required PDF Documents

  • CV

  • ID copy

  • Academic transcript

  • Proof of registration for 2026  

  • Parent/Guardian ID copy

  • Parent/Guardian Proof of Income - can include payslips, bank statements, or other relevant letters or documents

About The SAPOA Bursary

The SAPOA Bursary Fund aims to support change, address historical inequalities, and introduce young people to the property sector. The Fund also seeks to tackle future skills shortages in real estate. SAPOA provides bursaries to deserving prospective and current university students pursuing studies in the property and built-environment sector.

What it covers:

  • Full tuition fees

  • University-accredited accommodation

  • Prescribed textbooks and study materials

  • Structured mentoring and academic tutoring

๐Ÿค“ Who can Apply?

  • South African citizens turning 18 to 35 in 2026/2027

  • 2026 matriculants or applicants who matriculated in an earlier year and have not yet started (or wish to restart) a funded degree

  • Intending to study one of the SAPOA-funded programs (see list below)

  • 2027 University proof: provisional acceptance, waitlist, or application receipt

  • Parent/Guardian ID copy
